Just found out this week that both CCM and Worship Leader Magazine are doing features and review my new album “Love Is Waiting”!  The album officially released this month and already God is using the record to open some pretty crazy doors.  Can’t wait to share more as more of these sweet things get finalized……..

I am currently booking my 4 month nationwide tour that is going to run from Sept 1st pretty much through Christmas.  Still gathering connections and taking requests from ministries and venues to figure out the final routing.

I can’t wait to hit the road again and start spreading the new music!

Start to finish, this album has taken over 3 years to create. We spent one full year just experimenting with different recording techniques, types of gear, mixing options, and anything you can think of to make sure this project would become everything that it possibly could be. I have a tremendous passion for people and my Creator and I wanted this record to be the most glorious offering I could possibly create to bless them both. And I am incredibly excited to finally share it with you

To see the way God has blessed this process is insanely amazing and extremely humbling all at the same time. During the recording of this record I was able to sign with one of the largest PR labels in the country meaning this album will be released nationally As well as have a legitimate and good chance of getting national radio play These were answers to 10 years of prayer.

In addition to that amazing blessing, halfway through the project, one of the largest mix engineers in the country agreed to take on my album. Mills Logan, who has mixed artists like Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Collective Soul, Toby Keith, and many more……………………. for some reason decided he wanted to mix my album

The list of amazing things God has done to bless this project and amazing people He has brought to it in insane ways is seemingly endless. Those are just 2 huge examples of His hand being all over this thing.

Guys, I have spent more hours than I can count pouring myself into this thing. So many sleepless nights thinking about every detail. Every part. Every beat. Every sound. And I have had so many amazingly talented people pouring themselves into this record as well. All because we believe that music is powerful. It has the power to change lives. It has the ability to comfort the broken. To soften the bitter. To lift the spirits of the depressed. And most importantly of all, it has the ability to draw us to God like very few other things in this world. God sings hope to the human heart with melodies and rhythms in ways language cannot.

Guys that is why I do music. That is why I tour. That is why I write. And that is why I have spent 3 years on a project to make sure it could speak to as many hearts as possible.

I have been waiting for this night for so long And I would be honored beyond words if you came out and celebrated with me!

I will have many of the musicians on the album with me for this show which will be an incredible blessing!! The theater is gorgeous. The sound system is immaculate. We are going all out to make it the sweetest night possible

Yikes, I am so sorry I have dropped off the blogging planet.  I really am, because that is something I want to commit to and actually really enjoy doing on a regular basis.

I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way, but here’s the deal.  My personal life has been completely rocked this year.  I am currently walking through the hardest trial I have ever walked through.  And not sure if you are like me or not, but when something major is going on in your life, that is in depth and complicated, sometimes it’s just easier to not say anything.  It’s easier to just disappear for a bit and wait for the storm to blow over.  You don’t know what to say so you just don’t say anything at all.  Well…… that’s why I haven’t blogged since April.

I love you guys and I know you love me so I just want you to know I appreciate your support more than you know.  Both of my music/ministry and of me as a person.  My mentor in college once said, no one is going to learn more from your ministry than you yourself.  And that is so true.  It’s like going on a missions trip.  You go to impact the people and you end up a thousand times more impacted yourself.

My life is just very odd right now.  When people ask me “how are you doing?”………… I could give drastically different answers and both of the answers would be 100 percent honest and accurate.  Certain aspects of my life could not be going better.  The new album, ministry, things are growing like crazy……. signing major deals……. seeing God move more powerfully then ever before……… and then certain aspects of my life are in complete and utter devastation.  Experiencing the worst heartache I have ever tasted in my life.  And failing in areas of my life I never dreamed would even be an issue.

You put all of this together and it  just feels like an insane tornado of God’s workings.  My head is spinning and life has never been busier or more complicated……….. but at the same time I kind of feel like it is standing still.  It’s so weird.  It’s like I am in the eye of the storm……. watching everything happen around me, yet feeling powerless and detached from the violent winds.

I am learning a ton about God’s sovereignty right now……. even though life is overwhelming…….. i don’t feel overwhelmed.  I honestly feel more than I have ever felt that God has everything under control.  Life is literally to much to handle.  And He is teaching me about letting go of a lot of things I put on my shoulders that I am just not capable of carrying.  Surreal place to be……. but it’s just one more village along this journey it seems.

I will be sharing more in the months ahead about things, but that is all for now.  The record is on schedule for a February release and I am crazy excited!!!  I think you guys are going to flip when you hear this thing.  It is the record I have been waiting to release since my ministry began about 8 years ago.  God is……….. amazing.

I appreciate you guys more than words.  There are exciting things ahead and I hope you come along for the ride!

I am here in Rochester MN getting ready for the 1st show of this 2 week tour.  12 events in 14 days and then I go home to prep for 2 more local events and a lot of recording.  God is good!

I will have much more to share on this in the coming months, but God has recently opened some extremely large doors for my ministry in the past 2 months.  Doors that will hopefully allow my music and message to reach mass audiences, something I have been praying for for years!  And it has become very clear to me just how much prayer I am going to need surrounding me and lifting me up.  I can forget so easily the importance to ask for prayer and to assemble prayer warriors to intercede throughout this journey.

So please as you feel lead be praying for me on this tour and continually for me and my ministry.  I would appreciate it beyond words and it is so crucial for what I am doing.

This will be one of just a hand full of tours for me in 2010 as I am splitting time with being on the road and also finishing up the second half of the full length record that is coming out this next winter.  Recording is going INCREDIBLE and I can not wait to release this thing!  It has been a long time coming, but God has been opening amazing doors for this project and too see how amazing it is coming together is………… beyond words.  Thank you all so much for your continued support, emails, and encouragement!!

I would really love your prayers as there is so much work to be done yet, not just on the record, but in it’s release, and all of the ministry and work that will follow.  I need Him so much and for His hand to be upon every decision and partnership I make.  I would appreciate it more than you know!

I was thinking the other day how much one thing in your life can consume your thoughts, attitude, and even our complete emotions.  It’s so odd how everything in your life can be going incredible, but if there is one thing that is not well it can spoil everything else.  It can be like that for me anyway.  I think one of our deepest desires in life as human beings is just to be understood.  It’s one of the worst feelings in the world to feel like people are thinking things about you with a false understanding of where you are coming from or the motive behind your actions.

My life is just so crazy.  I think I am coming to grips with the fact that as long as God has this calling (traveling music ministry) on my life I will never have a home life like I truly desire.  Which is sad, but at the same time, more than ever I feel a peace that God’s purpose upon my life is supposed to be unordinary.  At least in this season anyway.  The hardest thing for me is to deal with reality that  because my life is unordinary, not everyone is going to understand all the decisions I make, and most importantly the heart behind them.  I don’t like disappointing anyone any more than anyone else does.   And in this season I feel tugged by people in so many different directions.  It hurts sometimes when people make judgments on our decisions when they have no understanding of the situation or the place God has called us too.  It takes a toll on the heart.

Ever year that goes by life gets more and more complicated by itself.  Add that to sincere pursuit of Jesus Christ and it doesn’t get any easier  It’s funny how we always think our current challenges are so huge.  But then we look back 10 years and we laugh at how small they were in perspective.

I guess I am just learning through this season that you can not please everyone.  And you will never be completely understood.  And you can’t spend your life jumping through hoops just to make everyone feel ok.  If you do you are not listening to the only voice that really matters.  We need to stand firm in the calling that God is directing us to and that He is the only one our actions should truly please.  And His heart is the only one who will completely understand us.  Not avoiding accountability or discounting Godly wisdom from friends and loved ones, but receiving it all and with an honest and humble heart and taking it to the Lord in prayer and His word.

This world is falling apart.  And more than ever God is calling His people to seek Him and Him alone.  He is asking us to go outside of social norms because He is asking us to do extraordinary things.  To not mindlessly follow the theology of men, but to earnestly seek the Spirit and Word of God on all issues.  If we truly want to walk in Love we must be willing to disappoint people.  Sounds crazy doesn’t it?  But at the center of a people pleasing spirit is selfishness.  It’s not about doing what is right, it is about doing things so people will be pleased with you.  Not doing what is in the best interest of the person or your life.  Love is selfless.  And sometimes it hurts.   But love is always the best choice.

God let us be a generation and a people that is most concerned with Your voice, Your desires, Your laws, Your heart, and Your purposes.  Give us ears to hear your voice and minds to understand your word as we seek you in it.  And give us the strength to resist the temptation of living our lives to appease this world.  We love you and we need you!  Draw near to us and call us out from the crowds to truly make a change in this place.
